Organizational Accomplishments

Over the years, we have led and collaborated on numerous initiatives focused on child abuse prevention, community support, and assistance for vulnerable populations. Highlights of our accomplishments include:

Community Awareness & Fundraising Events

  • Organized two charity golf tournaments in partnership with local golf associations and community groups to promote child abuse prevention awareness.
  • Produced five fashion shows in collaboration with local pageant organizations, Dillard’s (fashion sponsor), and The Cottonwood (venue partner).
  • Partnered with local sports teams to expand public awareness:
    • Dropped the first puck at two Idaho Steelheads games to address hundreds of attendees about child abuse prevention.
    • Threw out the first pitch at three Boise Hawks games and coordinated community giveaways, including bicycles donated through the Boise Bicycle Project.

Food Security & Direct Community Support

  • Led four consecutive years of “Picnics in the Park”, providing meals to food-insecure children and their families during summer months when school lunch programs were
    unavailable.
  • Founded Tuesday Night Dinners for the Homeless, working in collaboration with the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise, Boise Food Pantry, Corpus Christi, Boise Rescue Mission, and city food safety departments. Established over ten years ago, the program now serves more than 7,000 meals annually.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, launched Baskets of Gratitude, distributing over 500 appreciation baskets per year for three consecutive years to healthcare workers, including those at the Veteran’s Hospital. Distribution support was provided by DeMeyer Furniture.

Advocacy & Public Policy Efforts

  • Organized a public march from the Boise Art Museum to the State Capitol, where 172 symbolic mini-coffins were placed on the Capitol steps—representing children lost due to faith-based medical neglect. The event featured multiple speakers advocating for stronger child protection laws.
  • Conducted numerous meetings with state legislators, the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho Trust Fund, and other state officials advocating for repeal of religious exemption laws related to child welfare.
  • Coordinated television and radio public service announcements and paid advertising campaigns to amplify our mission. Published a full-page advertisement in the Idaho Statesman advocating for legislative reform.

Workforce Development & Foster Care Support

  • Through Foster Care Furniture, partnered with the College of Western Idaho, the General Contractors Association, Gem Friends, Maker Shop, Woodcraft, and numerous volunteers to provide training programs and build furniture for youth in foster care.

Expanding Impact

Building on this foundation, we are now advancing New Chapter Communities, a program dedicated to developing affordable housing solutions for individuals experiencing housing insecurity.
